It didn't take long to see action
on this final table of The Vegas
Open. With both Brian Chan and Scott
Goodman playing the short stack,
it was only a matter of time before
the crowd saw the first casualty
of the day. The pro player known
as Richard "The Quiet Lion"
Brodie retained the chip lead until
one of the new fresh faces of poker,
David Zazzi, started hitting one
winning hand after another to knock
out player after player, until he
worked his way to a final heads-up
with the former Microsoft owner
Brodie. It's a true Texas Hold'Em
finish with the guts against the

With
a mountain of chips to start round
three of The Vegas Open, young Korean
poker veteran Spring Cheong was
looking to steamroll the five remaining
players. On the first hand of the
day that is exactly what she did.
But that lead disappeared as J.C.
Tran and Robert Goldfarb tried to
take the lead in a huge pot that
J.C. took down and took over the
table. Spring refused to accept
that change and battled it to the
finish, along the way providing
quips of Asian philosophy to unnerve
her competitors. Will those words
of wisdom be enough to take the
pot and become the third semi-finalist?

From
the poker capitol of the world,
Las Vegas, the road to crowning
The Vegas Open champion continues
with round five. The prize pool
is over $100,000, but the goal is
to make it to the free money finals.
This week players from Boston, Brooklyn
and Miami take on the west. Highlights
include poker pros Perry Friedman
and Mike Hirscheson taking on the
new young guns of poker. One will
go out from the starting gun, one
will take the money and become the
fifth semi-finalist. It's no limit

This
week it's the half way mark of The
Vegas Open. Five semi-finalists
have their entry, five to go. One
more is added as the six finalist
are all meeting for the first time.

Miami real estate broker, a contractor
from San Francisco, a 22-year-old
grad student from Duke University.

Tournament
number seven of The Vegas Open started
with over 100 players, all competing
for a chance at the semi-finals
free money heads-up competition.
After ten hours of play, it came
down to the final six. Those six
read like a Las Vegas convention...a
chiropractor, an attorney of law,
a computer consultant, an E-commerce
consultant and two true poker professionals...Pete
"Pacman" Lawson and the
number one rated pro in the world...Michael
"The Grinder" Mizrachi.
The Vegas Open co-host Rob Huxley
picked the "Pacman" and
his colleague, Kyle Morris, went
with "The Grinder." One
was knocked-out after only three
hands and the other battled the
competition to become a semi-finalist.

It's tournament
number eight of The Vegas Open.
Only three weeks to the heads up
semi-finals and this week the prize
pool is $100,000. One of the stars
today is John "Miami"
Cernuto. Miami certainly makes any
TV table more fun to watch and on
hand 29, he was certainly thinking
about ratings when after young Jared
Okum from Tampa raised the pot and
KC John Wells moved all-in over
the top. But Miami, sensing a bluff,
also moved all-in, making the play
one of the biggest Texas Hold'em
duels of the tournament. Who took
the pot? Did any of the three become
a semi-finalist? Watch this week
as the NPL presents the only poker
series in High Definition...The

The
countdown to the first Vegas Open
semi-finals continues with the final
table of tournament number eight
featuring players from New York
to California. Ryan Gentry from
La Jolla started the day as the
chip leader and he certainly displayed
his enthusiasm to try and bust players
from the start. But on the very
first hand, all players challenged
him with each having outstanding
hole cards. Ryan stayed with his
hand to the river card where all
dropped out except John Stzemp from
Las Vegas, who challenged him with
an all-in move. Ryan called and
silence prevailed in suspense. Find
out if it is a bust or winner...and
that is just the first hand on one
of the most exciting games of the
first annual Vegas Open. Who will
go on to become the ninth semi-finalist?

There is a reason
that Las Vegas is the poker capitol
of the world, and this week's competition
on the Vegas Open is the perfect
example. It's the final tournament
of weekly challenges to see who
becomes the 10th semi-finalist to
go on to the free money heads-up
semi-finals. Competing for that
last position is Max "Mad Italian"
Pescatore plus some of the best
players in the game like Larry Vezina
from Canada, Junior De Rosa from
Florida, Bob Hume from Orlando,
all taking on the monster chip leader,
Ed "The Vegas Tornado"
Winfield. Mad Max is first in play
with the goal to intimidate all
with his words of action and play.
Will Ed Winfield retain the chip
lead and go on to the semi-finals?
